The birth chart is a map to some of the spiritual obstacles and tasks we may face in order to evolve, yet we all have the power to pick a good part of our destiny.
A Yod, often known as the “finger of God” or “finger of fate,” is an unusual formation in the astrology charts of a small number of people. In astrology, the Yod is frequently seen in the charts of persons whose lives are marked by intensity and constant change.
The artist Prince was born with two Yods in his horoscope. Both Princess Diana’s boys, William and Harry, have Yods in their birth charts. Meghan Markle also has a double Yod.

In astrology, what does a Yod signify?
In astrology, a Yod is a unique configuration of at least three planets. It has the appearance of a tall, thin triangular.
An equilateral triangle formed by two planets in sextile (60 degrees) to one other, with both of them producing an uncomfortable 150-degree quincunx (or inconjunct) angle to a third planet is known as a Yod aspect pattern.
The sextile planets are two zodiac signs apart and form an easy angle, indicating that they naturally communicate and collaborate.
Both of these planets, however, are five signs away (quincunx) from the planet at the Yod’s apex. The quincunx planet is in a zodiac sign that creates an uneasy energy of friction and adjustment, disrupting the sextile planets’ ease of movement.
You can notice in Prince’s birth chart (above) that he has not one, but TWO Yods. His 0 degree Mars in Aries is one, while his 0 degree North Node in Scorpio is the other.
Green dotted (inconjunct) lines connected by a short blue (sextile) base indicate Yod triangles.
According to astrologer Kevin Burk, the apex planet, which forms the two quincunx aspects, must also be the fastest-moving of the three planets in order for the configuration to be a successful one “Yod is correct. The speed of a planet is dictated by its distance from the Sun (the moon/Mercury is the quickest, while Pluto is the slowest). According to Burk’s theory, Pluto will never be the apex planet, rather the moon (the fastest-moving planet) will “It is impossible for a planet to be one of the base planets. This hypothesis does not hold water with all astrologers, but it is worth exploring.
What does having two YODS in your birth chart mean?
IN YOUR CHART, YOU CAN HAVE MANY YODS. Having more than one indicates that you are nearing the end of a karmic life, and maybe the end of a long and exhausting “many life” path. People with yods may experience unusual experiences from previous lifetimes.
What is Yod energy, exactly?
Yod is the tenth Hebrew letter, and it has mystical and kabbalistic significance in relation to God’s name, his omnipresence, and our humility. The Yod apex planet is Jupiter, as seen in Marina’s chart below. Quincunxes are the green lines (150). Mercury and Neptune form a sextile in the sky (60). The Yod is a difficult aspect pattern, but it has a lot of potential for spiritual growth and insight.
This pattern generates a distinct and powerful energy, far more so than these aspects could generate on their own. Here, I like to use the example of a crystal, which is a very distinct and unique structure that carries a specific type of energy that took a long time to form. This frazzled and neurotic energy will be tough for a Yod to deal with, especially early in life.
The energy of the two planets in sextile is focused on the action point, in this example Jupiter, like a laser beam. A sextile is a good element that has the ability to generate energy. The quincunxes take this increased vibration and boost it even higher. The apex planet manifests the most negative potential of the sextile aspect at first. The action point planet is then subjected to extreme stress and tension, which it must release in some way. Individuals with this Yod pattern will feel a constant build-up of tension followed by a release.
As I detailed in Nazi Horoscopes, life with a Yod is anything but ordinary: “Of the 100 German Nazis listed at Astro Databank, only 6 have Yod configurations.” Each played an important role in the conflict. A Yod does symbolize a specific duty or purpose that a person feels obligated to do in their life. These six gentlemen were definitely on a mission.
As I previously stated, I find Yod astrology to be extremely demanding; there will be many unpleasant events and relationships in life that seem to repeat themselves, as if we are repeating a lesson in order to perfect something. I believe that a Yod has spent many lifetimes working on a certain purpose or objective, making mistakes along the way while obtaining the necessary abilities.
The Yod in this life’s chart indicates that this is the life to pull everything together, make amends for faults, and repay the karmic debt. The abilities must be perfected and used constructively and selflessly to serve others in this life. The sextile planets represent skills, the quincunxes represent problems, and the apex planet represents the mission or task. The quincunx is a symbol of karmic rebalancing.
Are Grand Trines uncommon?
Every natal chart has a plethora of overlapping lines and angles that combine to generate specific features. The grand trine is a very uncommon feature. Read on to see if you have a grand trine in your horoscope and what this favorable alignment could mean for you, according to astrologers.
What does it mean in your chart to have a cradle?
THE CREEK This figure is made up of a strong red opposing aspect and five blue aspects that attempt to provide rest and peace to the world (three sextiles and two crossed trines). This is the individual who wishes to turn their life into a cradle in which they may curl up and block out the rest of the world.
What does having a mystic rectangle imply?
Many of you will have noticed new and interesting features in your astrology forecasts as a result of so much going on with the planets for all of us right now. While most of us are familiar with trines, oppositions, and conjunctions, we will see more and more aspects such as the Talent Square and the Mystic Rectangle emerging as we approach July’s Grand Soul Alignment. So, exactly what are they and what do they imply for us?
When three planets are at 90 degrees from one another and two are in opposition, a Talent Square is formed. Some astrologers describe to this as an Achievement Triangle, and it was previously referred to as a ‘T-square,’ and was considered a challenging or difficult aspect. We now see the Talent Square in a whole new light, according to astrologers’ observations of many famous people, who have discovered that this aspect has enormous potential and creative force. The squares build tension, while the opposing can release it. We now know that, far from being negative, the Talent Square inspires us to produce something and propels us onward toward our objectives. Often, what we perceive as roadblocks are the precise things that prompt us to go deep within and tap into our soul’s resources. We would never extend ourselves, grow, or, to paraphrase the recruitment motto, “Be all we can be” if life were always easy. In many ways, the Talent Square is more potent than the Grand Trine, because depending on which planets are involved in a Grand Trine, they might make life too easy for us, resulting in us not putting up any effort! We could compare it to having a talent, only you don’t have to work because you’re a trust fund baby, so you never find out what you’re capable of. If you have a Talent Square in your natal chart or are under its influence, know that you can unlock your gifts and fly higher than you ever thought with a little work!
When two sets of planets in opposition are separated by a sextile, the result is a Mystic Rectangle. When viewed in a chart, this feature resembles an envelope. This ‘envelope’ has true power in it since it symbolizes a plethora of skill within, all of which is somehow ‘protected.’ When we observe a Mystic Rectangle in someone’s birth chart, it usually suggests they wish to use their gifts in a balanced way. When it happens as a transit, it signifies we’re being given a chance to use our abilities to find a spiritually gratifying solution. The trick is to use them in a way that benefits others in some way, and we will be rewarded as a result.
What’s happening right now with the Grand Soul Alignment in July and the lead-up to it is that aspects like these are forming to invite us all to connect with, use, and release our own unique abilities in whichever part of our lives they reside. To be talented, we don’t have to be the CEO of our own company, win an Olympic gold medal, or publish a best-seller. Your ability could be in constructing a beautiful home, making family and friends feel loved and supported, caring for your pets, developing a beautiful garden, or being conscientious at work. It doesn’t matter as long as you express yourself freely, and no one’s contribution is more or less valuable than another’s, regardless of job title or income.
Keep an eye out for Talent Squares and Mystic Rectangles in your natal chart, and if you want to know if you have one (or more!) in your chart, one of our professional astrologers will be pleased to assist you.
What is the name of your stellium?
