Thanks to the Earth’s daily rotation, the planets and the sky are both constantly in motion. A freeze-frame is provided by your birth chart. It is an image of the sky as it appeared when and when you first entered the earth. For a precise chart reading, you must be aware of the precise time, date, and location of your birth.
For instance, the Moon switches signs every two to three days. Only your birth time would be able to determine what sign the Moon was in when you were born if you were born on a day when it changed signs.
Rising indicators change even more quickly. The sign that is currently ascending over the Eastern horizon is known as the rising sign (also known as the ascendant). This is the place in your birth chart where your body, vitality, and sense of self are most closely represented. This sign forms your first House of self and identity because it is so unique to you. The sign after that makes your 3rd House of communication, daily life, siblings and extended family, etc., and the sign after that becomes your 2nd House of possessions, resources, and livelihood. You won’t understand which signs belong to certain residences if you don’t know your rising sign.
Every 1-2 hours, rising signs change, and within a 24-hour period, the complete zodiac rolodex crosses the horizon. The precise degree ascending, or the degree of your ascendant, also advances every few minutes. Your rising sign is significant in astrology for this reason, which is also why the CHANI app places a lot of emphasis on it. It is wholly specific to you.
The other birth chart anchors are comparable in this regard. The precise time, day, and location of your birth determines the points of your MC (which represents your profession and public duties), IC (home, family, and roots), and DC (close relationships).
If you don’t know your birth time, there are other methods to use your chart, but we wanted to provide you some suggestions on how you may look for the most accurate astrological interpretation possible. It is beneficial to know and speak with your parents and caregivers because different hospitals, states, and nations have varied methods for recording births. That’s not an option for many people whose parents were adopted, passed away, or lost contact.
Age also has an impact. Older records may be more difficult to locate, though this isn’t always the case, and/or certain hospitals may have only begun keeping track of birth timings after a certain date.

Leave no stone unturned
Do your research if it needs to be done. Your birth time may have been recorded even if you cannot see it on your birth certificate at home. The short-form birth certificate, which is effectively a signed statement that the long-form certificate exists, is all that many people have. The most important details, such your birthdate, are included, although the time is infrequently mentioned. The documentation kept at the hospital is the long-form birth certificate. More information is frequently included, such as the parents’ names, birth dates, hospitals, and yes, the time of birth.
Call the birth records management division of your local government to obtain the long-form certificate. Depending on where you live, this may be referred to as the vital statistics ministry, department, or office. Depending on where and when you were born, it can be a state-wide, provincial, county, or parish-wide issue.
Ask someone to check the record to make sure the birth time is accurate before ordering the certificate. You won’t be the only one making this request because astrology is currently so well-liked, even considered normal.
You might also try contacting the birthplace hospital. They might be able to inform you who keeps those documents if they don’t.
Finding your long-form birth certificate is usually the wisest course of action, regardless of whether your parents or caretakers believe they know when you were born. Most individuals who were present when you were born were preoccupied with other activities at the time, so it’s more likely than not that their memories are inaccurate. Keep in mind that your rising sign can alter within a few minutes, so if at all feasible, choose an exact time rather than one that is rounded to the nearest hour.
Go digging
Examine ancient baby books, photo albums, attic boxes, scrapbooks, family bibles, etc. There’s a potential that your long-form certificate was misplaced, or that a meticulous parent, grandmother, or caregiver recorded the hour of your birth in their diary.
Ask around
Inquire with your parents, carers, or anybody who may have been there when you were born, such as a relative or close friend. As previously noted, finding a record with your precise birth time is ideal, but if you can zero in on the hour or general time of day, it can help you identify your Moon and limit the possibilities for your rising sign.
Rectify your chart
As a final resort, you can attempt to have an astrologer who specializes in this method correct your chart. Trial and error will always be a part of life. Although chart correction is not an exact science, it does work quite well for some people. While we do not provide recommendations for astrologers that perform this type of work, we do advise asking about in your networks (or even on Twitter?) to see if anyone you know has a relationship with a reputable astrologer.

Is the birth chart affected by time?
Let’s begin by discussing the significance of your precise birth time in astrology in general. Your own adventure on earth starts when you are born and breathe for the first time, claims Gold Ring Astrology. Your spiritual journey also begins the moment you step foot in the human world, and it is also the time the fabric of your life’s story begins to take shape.
Birth timing is significant primarily for this reason. Your ascendant, or rising, signthe sign that was visible over the eastern horizon at the time of your birthis determined by the precise hour of your birth (via Mind Body Green). Your ascendant sign reflects both your worldview and how others perceive you (via Allure).
How is the birth time corrected?
There are various points of view and perspectives in Vedic astrology regarding the importance of noting the birth time. The most common perspective is to note the child’s birth time, which occurs when he or she emerges from the mother’s womb. Another opinion holds that the child’s first cry should be used to determine the time of birth. The child may not cry, though, in some instances, unless the nurse slaps it. Some astrologers believe that the birth time should be determined by the instant the child’s umbilical cord is severed and they are no longer dependent on their mother. Within three to five minutes after the infant is born from the womb, the umbilical chord is often severed. However, it is impossible to prove with certainty that the documented birth time is accurate to the minute. In rare instances, it has been discovered that the documented birth time places the ascendant’s degrees at the intersection of two Rashi’s, leaving astrologers in the dark as to the ascendant’s true rising sign (lagna). Many times, incorrect divisional charts (Vargas) are produced by the recorded birth time, which prevents accurate forecasts.
Hindu astrology’s classical texts have provided some techniques for adjusting the time of birth, however these techniques are primarily focused on astrology’s mathematical features. Others are based on the weekday of the birth and the Nakshatra ruling that day. Some ways employ the position of the Moon or Mandi. However, these techniques are quite generic in nature and frequently provide incorrect ascendant degrees. It has been discovered that these approaches require at least a 25-minute gap between two births on a specific weekday and in a specific Nakshatra, which is not feasible.
Tattwa Shodana Theory of Birth Time rectification
The late Shri D.V. Subbarao, a renowned astrologer from Andhra Pradesh, developed the Tattwa Shodana Theory, which is based on Nadi. According to this idea, each planet is given the lordship of an element or Tattwa. For each weekday, these five TattwasAgni (fire), Prithvi (earth), Vayu (air), Jala (water), and Aakash (space)are organized in a particular order. Male and female human babies are born at specific intervals of time. There is a specific order in which trees, animals, birds, etc. are born. Five Tattwas are assigned to rule each of the seven planets. Agni or Tejo Tattwa is ruled by Mars and the Sun, Prithvi Tattwa by Mercury, Vayu Tattwa by Saturn, Jala or Soma Tattwa by Venus and the Moon, and Aakash Tattwa by Jupiter. The lord of these Tattwa’s controls a specific time period of a few seconds on a specific weekday. Male and female babies are born at specific intervals of a few seconds, according to the lords of various Tattwas. The female birth occurs during the control of the Moon, Venus, and Saturn, and the male birth occurs during the control of the Sun, Mars, Mercury, and Jupiter. The ancient text “Jataka Phala Chintamani” mentions that these Tattwa revolve in a particular order.
According to the “Tattawa Shodhana”theory, birth times can be altered up to 3 minutes apart, and using the “anter tattwa Siddhantha,” times can be adjusted up to roughly 12 seconds apart. This is interesting because it matches the Nadi Amsha, which divides each sign into 150 minutes, giving a specific time for each Nadi Amsha. In addition, a Nadi Amsha is further broken into two sections, Poorvabhagh and Uttarabhagh, for a total of 300 divisions of a sign. Each Nadi Amsha lasts for 24 seconds if the lagan is performed for around 2 hours.
Each Nadi Amsha now contains two parts and lasts for 24 seconds. One is called “Poorvabhagh,” and the other is called “Uttarbhagh.” As a result, each of the two halves of a Nadi Amsha lasts for 12 seconds. The Nadi Amsha results are determined by whether the birth occurred in the first part (Poorvabhagh) or second part (Uttarabhagh) of a specific Nadi Amsha.
The birth time can be corrected according to the Tattwa Shodhan hypothesis by up to 12 seconds, which is exactly a portion of Nadi Amsha. This birth time rectification approach does have some significant limitations, though. Without using an event-based hindsight analysis, we are unable to verify the birth time after these meticulous calculations. With my teacher Shri K.N. Rao, we’ve talked about the aforementioned birth time rectification techniques. The event-based correction of the horoscope is, in Shri K.N. Rao’s opinion, the greatest technique for correcting birth times. The 16 Vargas that the Sage Parashara mentions in this approach, as well as the time periods in which their ascendants are shifting, must be the focus of the astrologer. For instance, the Dashamsha has ten divisions of three each, the Navamsha has nine divisions of three meters each, and the Chathurathamsha has four divisions of seven meters each. After correcting these Vargas, one may closely correct the ascendant’s degrees within a 2- to 3-mark range. After that, one can move on to finer Vargas like Dwadamsha, which has 12 divisions of 2 30′, and Shodamsha, which has 16 sections of 1 52′.
It takes a thorough study of the classical Hindu astrological principles and their practical application to divisional horoscopes to do an event-based correction.
When is Jesus’ birth?
Therefore, there is little reliable information available on Jesus’ precise birthdate. The two biblical traditions of Luke and Matthew reveal the following:
- In Judea’s Bethlehem, Jesus was born.
- At the time of Jesus’ birth, Herod the Great was the ruler of Israel. But since he passed away in 4 BC rather than 0 BC, the time span from 7 to 4 BC can be regarded as Jesus’ birth year.
- Mary and Joseph, who were engaged at the time of Jesus’ birth, were his parents.
- Jesus was born a virgin, according to the Bible, via the power of the Holy Spirit.

Are birth times listed on UK birth certificates?
There are two different birth certificates available in the UK: the long and short forms. Only the child’s name, DOB, birthplace, and gender are displayed in the brief form. These cannot be used as identification in the UK. You can find the following details on all long-form UK birth certificates:
Registration district, sub-district and county
The birth’s official registration location is indicated by the registration location. Instead of the actual birthplace, this will be the district where it occurred. For illustration, the following information might be given for a person born in London close to Wembley Stadium:
- Area code: Wembley
- Greater London County
Full name of person born
The full name of the person whose birth the certificate pertains, including any middle names given, will be presented. Any names added after the birth was registered, such as assumed names, nicknames, or confirmation names, will not be included in this.
Date of birth
The person’s entire birthdate is shown on the certificate. In most cases, the time of birth will not be included. The time of each birth will be added to the date section in the event of multiple births (such as twins or triplets), which would be the lone exception to this rule.
Place of birth
In the event of a home birth, the certificate will specify the address of the home or building, whereas a hospital birth will specify the name of the hospital.
Mother’s maiden surname (and any other previous names)
The certificate will list any former names the woman has been known by, including her maiden (birth) surname and any additional names from prior marriages.
Mother’s Usual Address
The mother’s regular address will be listed on the birth certificate even if the child wasn’t born there. The child was most likely born at this time at a hospital.
Father’s full name
If the father has been identified, his complete name, including any middle names, will appear on the child’s birth certificate. Now, the father can only be listed as the biological father if he was present when the birth was registered.
Signature, description and residence of informant
The person registering the birth of the child will be listed on the certificate in circumstances when neither the mother nor the father were accessible to do so. A description of who they are, their address, and their signature will all be included in these particulars.
Date the birth was registered
It is customary for the birth to be officially documented on a day other than the actual birth date. The birth must be registered in accordance with UK law within 42 days of the occasion. The child’s birth certificate contains the date of the actual registration.
Signature of registrar
On the certificate, the registrar who handled the birth registration will be noted. Either a handwritten or typed signature is acceptable (in recent years).
Date the certificate was produced
The precise date that the original registration document was issued, in the event that it was reissued, is noted on the birth certificate.

What in astrology is a sunrise chart?
If you don’t know when you were born, you can guess: For something called a “sunrise chart,” look up the time of sunrise on the day you were born, or enter 12 p.m. for a “noon chart.” And if you’re really into astrology but don’t know your birth time, you can pay for what’s called a “natal chart rectification,” in which an astrologer asks you in-depth questions about your past in order to essentially work backward to find your birth time.
