In this episode, Kelly Surtees, an astrologer, joins the program to discuss some advice on how to study astrology and ultimately become an astrologer.
The debate is based in part on a piece I published on my blog several years ago titled “10 Tips for Learning Astrology.” (Update 8/18/2018: Watch my video on five easy tips for new astrology students.) In order to expand on some of the different suggestions and add a few new ones, I wanted to revisit the subject.
Kelly and I will walk you through the very first steps you must take in order to start studying astrology, assuming you know nothing or very little about it. We will then guide you through the intermediate and advanced stages of learning about the topic.
By the end of the show, we get the listener directly to the place where they should be ready to transition into practicing astrology professionally. The end result is essentially a 3-5 year framework for how to become an astrologer.

Because Western astrologers place more stress on the Sun sign, which is fixed for one month, as opposed to Vedic astrologers, who place more attention on the Moon sign, which is fixed for 2.25 days, Western astrology can occasionally provide ludicrous findings.
