An antique sickle or scythe is used to represent Saturn, the sign of Capricorn. Saturn is the planet of restriction, limits, structure, discipline, accountability, power, responsibility, duty, and aspiration.

What do the natal chart’s lines represent?
Okay, we’ve arrived! It’s finally time to solve the enigma surrounding astrological aspectsa moment that many of you have been waiting for. Many people have a solid understanding of the astrological signs, planets, and even houses, but they are unsure of the significance of and the meaning of the aspects in a birth chart.
A chart’s aspects are the angular connections that the planets make with one another and with other chart points like the Ascendant. Aspects are the way the planets interact in our birth charts; they can reveal a person’s characteristics in a way that a sign or house position alone cannot. As a result, they play a crucial role in understanding a chart.
Returning to the early Astro DIY analogy, we can consider the aspects as the conversation the players (the planets) are having with one another. The kind of component reveals the nature of their discourse and the tone they are adopting.
Reading aspects in the chart
You must memorize the angle or the distance in signs between each one in order to understand an aspect (for example, a square is three signs apart). Knowing your stuff inside and out might be helpful before diving into particulars. Ideally, you will be able to memorize the polarities (water and earth are harmonious, fire and air are harmonious), the elements and modes for each sign (for example, Taurus is Fixed Earth), as well as the signs that are opposite one another in the zodiac (eg. Aries and Libra). Being aware of this will make it simpler to identify an aspect; for instance, you’ll know that trines are always formed by planets in the same element, making them much easier to seek for.
Orbs
An orb is a circle with a radius of up to 10 around a planet’s position in astrology. The amount by which the two planets can depart from the precise number of degrees of the aspect and still be regarded as having an aspect effect is known as the permissible orb.
Once you’ve finished reading, return to this chart and try to identify one of each of the key components.
How is an aspect grid read?
As you can see, there is a box on the left that lists each planet along with its precise degree, minute, and second of arc.
You also have the aspect grid, which runs from the Sun to the AC & MC. These steps allow you to quickly see how many planets are in aspect with one another (they remind me of the stepped pyramid of Chichen Itza).
The planets that are in each element and mode are listed in a 43-square grid on the right.
- Planets in the signs of Fire, Air, Earth, and Water are represented by the rows with the letters F, A, E, and W on the left.
- Planets in Cardinal, Fixed, or Mutable signs are described in the columns with C, F, and M along their tops.
You can add the individual columns and rows to determine the strongest or weakest features and modes, as demonstrated in this improved radio episode. This can provide further information about how the native interacts with their surroundings, how they handle conflict, and what drives them. Depending on its own effect, each planet and angle has a certain form of planetary weighting or strength. This is open to interpretation, just like everything else in astrology, and you can give a planet more points if you think it deserves it (like I did in Johnny’s case with Saturn).
This and numerous other factors led me to the conclusion that astrology is an art or skill that is open to interpretation rather than a science.
The hue of the aspect reveals the nature of the planetary “conversation’s” influence:
- Major hard aspects are highlighted in red (conjunction, opposition and square)
- Blue denotes important soft characteristics (trine, sextile)
- Some of the more frequently noticed minor characteristics are highlighted in green (semi-sextile and quincunx)
- The remaining minor elements are covered in the black aspects (Semi-square, Bi-quintile, Quintile, Sesquiquadrate)
The Sun is in difficult aspect to Chiron in Johnny Depp’s chart. It forms a minor aspect to the Midheaven and is in gentle aspect to Jupiter and Saturn (MC).
The numbers and letters indicate the separation or application of the aspect, as well as the number of degrees between the planets.
I can see that the Sun is trine to Saturn with 5 degrees of orb, which indicates that the trine will be a perfect 120 aspect in 5 degrees.
Knowing which planets travel quicker and slower is helpful since it is always read that the faster-moving planet is applying to or detaching from the slower-moving planet it is aspecting.
Do twin flames’ birth charts resemble one another?
Twin-flame relationships, however, are an exception rather than the rule. Given how much they like Libra, Cancer is most likely Libra’s twin flame. Even though these two zodiac signs aren’t the most compatible, they can nonetheless fulfill each other’s requirements.
Therefore, despite what the general public thinks, twin flames do not always share the same zodiac sign. They can also result from an unexpected alignment of astrological signs. To learn more about the twin-flame zodiac signs, continue to the following section.
How does astrology interpret an empty house?
Every house has a ruler, just like every sign of the zodiac does. For instance, if Sagittarius is rising in your chart, Sagittarius will automatically rule your first house of self. Rising sign is the first house. It doesn’t necessarily indicate that you lack self-awareness if that house is empty. Simply said, an empty first house indicates that you should turn to the ruler, in this case Jupiter in the case of a Sagittarius rising. Let’s imagine that in a chart with a Sagittarius rising, Jupiter is located in the fourth house. This would link the first house of self-related issues to the fourth house of home, family, and personal affairs. You should also look at the sign that Jupiter occupies in the fourth house if you want a thorough knowledge of the first house’s ruler.
The first house functions similarly to the others; each has a ruler. I advise using conventional planetary ruler-ships rather than more recent planets like Pluto, Neptune, and Uranus when looking for a house’s ruler because they rarely change signs. To comprehend their meanings, for instance, utilize Mars for your Scorpio-ruled house, Saturn for your Aquarius-ruled house, and Jupiter for your Pisces-ruled house. You might meet a lover through your career or just have romantic and professional affairs intertwined in some way if you find that your seventh house of relationships and partnerships is in your 10th house of career and public image. This method of interpreting house rulers makes it simple to comprehend how astrology and life are interconnected. In most cases, the issues of life are interconnected, and the houses function similarly.
What components make up a natal chart?
The three most significant elements of your birth chart
- The sun represents your whole “self,” ego, and the person you were raised to be.
- Moon: Your moon sign represents your feelings, your secret identity, and who you were when you were a youngster.
- Rising/Ascendant: Your rising sign determines your personality and how you interact with others.
What planets in a natal chart are the most significant?
According to astrology, our planets have all of the universe’s power, and they are never hesitant to use it to affect our lives. They offer you courage, illuminate your purpose, and nudge your heart in the direction of success and love. Their effects, meanwhile, aren’t usually as entrancing or enchanting. They may even cause you great loss, hardship, and suffering. Remember that planets are like the gods and goddesses of the cosmos, each with their own personalities, and that while their ultimate goal is to assist you in realizing your full potential, they aren’t always so kind in their approach. The most significant planets in astrology are Saturn, Uranus, and Pluto, and the challenges they provide to you frequently have the greatest influence.
While every planet has both positive and negative aspects, some seem to be made entirely of ominous intensity. They frequently experience unforeseen horror, emotional hardship, and perhaps a never-ending darkness throughout their transits. But it always does, and when the misery passes, you frequently have experienced more growth than you could have ever imagined. These planets perform a thankless task, and while they may be frightening, it is their influence that consistently produces the most potent outcomes.
What do astrological “strong aspects” mean?
An angle of roughly () 010 degrees is referred to as a conjunction (abbreviated as “Con”). An orb of 10 is typically seen as a Conjunction. Some astrologers think an orb of no more than eight is appropriate if the Sun or Moon are not present.
A significant factor in a horoscope chart is a conjunction. Because they mutually amplify each other’s impacts, they are considered to be the most potent characteristics.
Depending on the planets involved, a Conjunction could be advantageous or harmful. Highly favorable Conjunctions can include any of the three possible combinations as well as the Sun, Venus, and/or Jupiter. Highly unfavorable Conjunctions can occur with the Moon, Mars, Saturn, or any of the other three possible pairings.
A 3-way favorable Conjunction involving the Sun, Venus, and Jupiter occurred exceptionally on November 910 of 1970. On March 10 of the same year, the Moon, Mars, and Saturn formed a harmful triple conjunction.
If one of the two planets in a conjunction is already feeling the strain of one or more hard aspects with one or more other planets, the addition of a conjunction will only heighten the tension of those hard aspects.
A planet’s conjunction with the Sun is particularly powerful if it occurs within 17 minutes of arc, or just at a distance of around 0.28. The planet is supposedly Cazimi, an old astrological term that means “in the heart” (of the Sun). For instance, “Venus Cazimi” indicates that Venus and the Sun are in conjunction with an orb smaller than 0.28.
The precise orb limit may vary depending on the planet in question if it is somewhat close to the Sun. It is allegedly combustible.
The Sun and Moon come together at the New Moon every month of the year.
How can you read astrological houses?
The ruling planet of the chart can also be found in the Ascendant. A person with a Sagittarius Ascendant, for example, lives in a world that is dominated by the bountiful Jupiter, whereas a person with a Pisces Ascendant is ruled by the compassionate Neptune.
The Ascendant is used not only to determine our unique terrain but also to design the unique structure of the chart. Birth charts are read counterclockwise, with the First House being defined by the horizontal line of the Ascendant. As we move up the chart’s sections, or Houses, we begin at the Descendent on the right side of the horizon and work our way up. The Twelfth House, which borders the Ascendant to the north, is where the cycle comes to an end.
Exactly which signs are twin flames?
The complimentary element offers twin flame zodiac signs a fresh outlook on life. Through the complimentary aspect, they learn about fresh ideas that improve their quality of life.
-The Air signs Gemini, Libra, and Aquarius complement the Fire signs Aries, Leo, and Sagittarius.
-Water signs Cancer, Scorpio, and Pisces complement Earth signs Taurus, Virgo, and Capricorn.
The relationship between fire and air signs is as follows: Since both Fire and Air signs are outspoken, communicative, and very energetic, they are drawn to one another. Because of their disposition, they are not deterred by the challenges that a twin flame relationship brings. While Fire indications are passionate, Air signs are logical. This enables them to approach challenging situations that may arise during the twin flame trip with a broad and comprehensive viewpoint.
This is how Earth signs and Water signs get along: Because there is an instantaneous profound understanding when Earth and Water signs come together, they are drawn to one another. Because they understand how to read the demands of Water signals, Earth signs are the most encouraging. Water signs are able to observe things realistically thanks to Earth signs’ realism. Earth signs benefit from the free expression of water signs’ emotions. As time passes, the traits they each possess make the two personas more compatible.
