If that sounds complicated and time-consuming that’s because it is. While the United States’ Pluto return is exact (or at the exact 27-degree mark) for the first time ever this week, astrologers agree that the slow-moving planet has been inching its way through Capricorn for a couple years. With Pluto ultimately moving into Aquarius on March 23, 2023, only to retrograde back into Capricorn twice before shifting into Aquarius for real on November 19, 2024, we may expect to feel its effects throughout this year and the next two.

How long will Pluto spend in Aquarius?
Trends are difficult to predict. Even the most well-informed people generalize from current events. X may be heading up, down, or forking into a new form, but it is still X. Anything in Aquarius defies the laws of physics.
On March 24, 2023, Pluto enters Aquarius, where he will stay until January 2044. You’re a Pluto in Aquarius prepper if you’re perplexed by conventional culture and wonder why others don’t have the same need to rethink everything.
What does Pluto’s position in Aquarius imply?
Pluto in Aquarius encourages us to change our perceptions of ourselves and our place in the world in our personal life. It’s natural for us to think about what’s best for ourselves and what will benefit us the most in the future, but what if our first, natural instinct was to think about what’s best for others and what will benefit us all the most in the future? This is the transformation that Pluto in Aquarius want to see in us… will we heed the call?
Pluto Retrograde in Aquarius
When Pluto performs a u-turn in the sky, he focuses his transforming force on us as individuals rather than the world at large. We’re forced to confront the pieces of ourselves that we’d rather keep hidden. Pluto Retrograde in Aquarius forces us to analyze our motivations for our actions: Are we actually acting in the best interests of others, or are we just looking out for ourselves? Do we truly believe we are a part of mankind, or do we believe we are superior to others? Do we pay attention to others’ needs or assume we already know what’s best?
We may not like some of the answers we find during Pluto’s Retrograde in Aquarius, but that’s the point: only when we recognize that something in our lives is holding us back can we begin to make the necessary changes to let go of those habits. Allow Pluto Retrograde to bring you to this insight.
If you were born with Pluto in Aquarius
It’s a potent combination to have the planet of power and change in the free-thinking and inquisitive sign of Aquarius. You know that negative energy is preventing you from getting where you want to go. You not only notice your own defects and attempt to correct them, but you also see the problems in humanity and seek to correct them.
You may find it easier to let go of things than others because Pluto in Aquarius is more attached to the mind than to emotions. But just because you understand that change is a necessity in life doesn’t mean you should start pulling down things only to change them. You may end up deleting sources of stability and happiness from your life that you will never be able to replace.
Throughout your life, you’ve probably experienced one or more significant changes in your social environment. Your hopes and ideas have been colored and shaped by these events. You’ve learnt that endings are also beginnings, and that something must die in order for something new to be created, thanks to this constant turmoil. This knowledge is a gift you may provide to the rest of the world. Write a book, start a public blog, or start a podcast to process and disseminate your ideas. Your knowledge is critical to our collective success.
What is Pluto doing now, in the year 2022?
It’s tempting to blame periodic celestial phenomena like full moons and Mercury retrogrades for making you feel weird. This is due in part to the fact that these celestial bodies move at a fast rate. Pluto, on the other hand, takes anything from 12 to 31 years to travel through each zodiac sign and spends 248 years doing so. While it may be more difficult to pinpoint how astrological shifts effect you, that isn’t to suggest they don’t.
Pluto’s aim is to encourage you to confront your inner shadows, potentially harmful beliefs and patterns, and deep-seated psychological and emotional wounds in order to emerge healed and empowered. Pluto is named after the God of the Underworld. Pluto is also the planet of death, rebirth, and regeneration, hence its symbolism can be compared to that of a phoenix rising from the ashes. In order to spur growth, it will burn down anything that is no longer benefiting you.
Pluto, like Mercury (and all of the planets in our solar system), swings backward through our sky every year for around five to six months during retrograde periods. From Friday, April 29 (only one day before the first solar eclipse of the year) through Saturday, October 8, 2022, Pluto will retrograde in the hardworking cardinal earth sign Capricorn. Read on to learn more about the symbolism of Pluto retrograde and which signs will be most impacted by the planet of transformation as it moves backward in 2022.
In 2023, what sign will Pluto be?
WHEN: From March 23, 2023 to June 11, 2023, Pluto will make a brief appearance in Aquarius. However, its continuous twenty-year transit through Aquarius (considered the formal commencement of the zodiac) “On January 21, 2024, the “Pluto in Aquarius era” begins.
In this piece, I go over Pluto’s passage into Aquarius in great detail (see the last section, headed “For additional information, see “A Sneak Peek towards 2024.” But here’s a quick rundown:
The issues of the planet that dominates the sign are empowered, warped, distorted, corrupted, deconstructed, and/or transformed by Pluto. These themes go through a sort of death and rebirth, and they’re never the same again.
Science, scientific discoveries, technical developments, outer space, political and social revolutions, social change, egalitarianism, and progressive beliefs are all associated with Aquarius.
As a result, technological and scientific discoveries, redistribution of power, giving the masses a voice, and attaining freedom and liberty are all similar threads with Pluto in Aquarius events.
The following are some of the things I believe we can expect during Pluto’s forthcoming Aquarius transit:
- A tsunami of political progressivism has swept the country (one thing to watch: Aquarius is a fixed sign that, prior to the discovery of Uranus, had Saturn as its ruler… with Pluto in Aquarius, the chance of authoritarianleft-wing regimes is higher than usual).
- New mainstream political parties are forming (I especially see this happening in the United States)
- New technology that will help us become less reliant on oil (and will spearhead ecological breakthroughs)
- Traditional power paradigms are decentralizing as oppressed people acquire more equality and authority.
WHEN: From March 30, 2025, to October 22, 2025, Neptune will make a brief visit to Aries. However, it begins its twelve-year journey through Aries (the first sign of the zodiac), which is regarded the actual commencement of the zodiac “On January 26, 2026, the “Neptune in Aries era” begins.
Alcoholism, art, compassion, enlightenment, fantasy, dreams, drugs, ideals, spirituality, and water are all ruled by Neptune.
Aries is the sign of activity, aggression, boldness, courage, and many other qualities “doing,” “leading,” and “war” are all words that come to mind when
It’s always useful to consider what happened the last time a planet passed through a sign. The notion isn’t that we’ll have a carbon reproduction of what happened; after all, other planets were doing different things at the time. However, we must keep an eye on the themes.
Consider the following events that occurred during Neptune’s last visit to Aries (1861-1875):
- During the Civil War (Aries), opioids (Neptune) were employed to treat troops; many got hooked.
- The formation of the Prohibition Party, which is essentially a war on alcohol (Aries) (Neptune)
- Pasteurization is the application of heat (Aries) to kill pathogens (Neptune).
- The 13th Amendment is ratified in the United States, transforming compassion for other people (Neptune) into something concrete (Aries).
- The International Red Cross was founded, and it is a pioneering (Aries) organization that assists others (Neptune).
- The Impressionist movement begins. This art (Neptune) movement is distinguished by bright (Aries) colors and the incorporation of movement (Aries).
I feel that in the next age of Neptune in Aries, we’ll see a lot more urgent action on water issues (for example, forceful Aries! water conservation measures).
- a greater probability of international conflicts over water access and rights;
- a concerted effort to make mental health (Neptune) resources more widely available and prioritized.
Extra fact: Saturn and Neptune will collide at 0 degrees Aries on February 21, 2026 (a very crucial degree of the zodiac… literally where it all begins!). Saturn and Neptune last collided in 1989, on three distinct occasions. This is something I’ll look at at a (much) later time, but it’s still something I’m thinking about.
What is the duration of Pluto’s return?
Some planets have such a long cycle that no human has ever seen them return. Uranus takes 84 years, Neptune 165, and Pluto 248 years to orbit the Sun. While no individual can experience a Pluto Return, when Pluto returns, nations and empires are forced to investigate their own underworlds.
While all three exact strikes of the United States’ Pluto Return will occur in 2022, Pluto’s slow motion means we are already experiencing it, and have been since Pluto first entered Capricorn in 2008. Let’s take a glance at Pluto’s natal location in the Declaration chart before we get into the details of this transit.
Saturn is in Aquarius for how long?
From March 6 to April 17, Dr. Evil (Saturn) and Mini-me (Mars) will be up to no good in breezy Aquarius. However, by “up to no good,” we truly mean that the two planets seek to destroy each other completely. The two Malefics of the Zodiac are Mars and Saturn. Both are nasty enough on their own, but when they come together, like Sid and Nancy, Kurt and Courtney, Bonnie and Clyde, Slash and Axl Rose, or other toxic duos, they bring out the worst in each other.
When Pluto moves a degree, how long does it take?
Planets that are farther away from the Earth take longer to orbit to these “birth” degrees and signs, as you may have guessed. Pluto, on the other hand, takes 225 years or more to return to the location it was in during a significant event.
What sign of the zodiac is Aquarius?
The Aquarius New Moon (late January or early February) and Aquarius Full Moon (late July or early August) are the only two days of the year when you can create your particular Moon sign Power Wish.
What happens if Pluto reappears?
We can, according to Ash, “Expect big tax reforms to pay for the nation’s massive debt increase (both linked to Pluto).” Pluto’s return could have ramifications for social justice and accountability “increasing societal unrest and grappling with huge disparities between those who ‘have’ and those who ‘don’t’
