Which Planet Rules Cancer

The Moon stands for the inner self, emotions, and unconscious. The Sun, who stands in for the true self, is reflected in it. The Moon also represents security, automatic or ingrained behavior patterns, interpersonal skills, and the capacity to be nurturing to others. The Moon is exalted in Taurus and controls Cancer. It and the Sun are frequently compared as the feminine, receptive principle and the masculine, or positive principle, respectively. The feminine and nurturing side of oneself is symbolized by the moon. The Moon in a male chart symbolizes the anima, or the feminine side, and also predicts the kind of partner you will draw. The moon also symbolizes a past resonance that still affects your present life on an automatic or habitual level.

Why is the moon Cancer’s ruling planet?

You are one lucky baby if you were born when the Moon was in the sign of Cancer! You have a unique bond with the Moon because Cancer is the only astrological sign it rules. The Moon stimulates your inner life, just as it affects the tides of the ocean, which helps to explain your emotional ups and downs. Since you tend to be temperamental, accepting this trait is a necessary step in integrating your Moon sign. You can think of it this way: Astrologically speaking, you’re in control on the days the Moon is having a wonderful day! Your instincts will quickly inform you it’s time for relaxation and self-care when the Moon is having a difficult day because when the Moon is having a hard day, so are you.

Your instincts are absolutely spot on, speaking of which! Your amazing level of intuition, which also extends to your emotional depth, is only matched by a very small number of Moon signs. You have the highest level of emotional intelligence and have very strong feelings. Of course, experiencing strong emotions has its difficulties. When you are hurt, you have a tendency to withdraw, which can make discussion difficult. Although defending your soft interior is only natural, it can make people uncomfortable. By expressing your need for privacy, you can make sure that everyone is on the same page and get the time you require to think things through.

Yasmin is here. I had the good fortune to interview Marc Allen this month (May 2018) on my Hay House Radio program Weekly Astrology with Yasmin.

Since I first watched this interview, in which Marc discusses how to create your own reality in such an authentic way, I have been a fan of his. You should definitely see it, in my opinion!

Marc’s star sign is actually Cancer, the sign of the crab. But given that the lovely Moon rules the sign of Cancer, he chooses to refer to himself as a Moonchild for pretty apparent reasons.

My former mentor, the late, brilliant astrologer Jonathan Cainer, once made a statement about how ironic it was that Cancerians, the most sensitive sign, had this terrifying term as their star sign’s name.

Conclusion: Although I’m not sure if it will last forever, I’ve chosen to rebrand Cancer as Moonchild, at least on my website.

The crab symbolizes Cancer, the fourth sign of the zodiac. They are primarily recognized for being sensitive, emotional, nurturing, very intuitive, and occasionally insecure. Water is their elemental sign, as it is for Pisces and Scorpio, which makes sense given the depths of emotion that these signs are known for.

Because of their relationship to the moon phases, Cancers are often described as “crabby.” Although they wear their hearts on their sleeves, they also have a spectrum of emotions going on within that can occasionally make them look too sentimental or melancholy.

Cancers are known to retreat into their “shells” just like real crabs do, and they feel most at ease at home with their loved ones. They tend to be more reclusive, favoring close relationships with a select few people over engaging in large-scale social interactions, which can quickly overwhelm the Crab.

Cancers despise small conversation and might be a challenge to approach at first, but once you get to know them, they’ll be your devoted companion for life.
