On the one hand, receiving this communication, especially in a block of big neon text and shouting caps, was terrifying. Water, fire, air, and earth are the four elements that divide the 12 zodiac signs, and nearly all of this friend’s loved ones, including myself, aren’t earth signs at all. Under the pretext of astrology, they were stating that they were removing practically everyone who cared about them.
On the other hand… I understand. And I understand. We’ve talked about how air signs breathe ideas and information, how fire signals burn with force and passion, and how water signs swim in emotions and memory. All of these features, however, are personal sensations, actions of perception that are completely intangible. Earth is a genuine, physical entity. In the material world, the stuff that comes out of the earth valuable stones, harvests, clay has real value. We can interact with it, build with it, and share it. Earth exists outside of our heads as something we can hold and be held within of. Taurus, Virgo, and Capricorn are the three earth signs, and they are all stable, grounded, and realistic.
