With his sweet voice and truthful words, Romain Virgo has won the hearts of many Jamaicans as well as an international audience. In 2006, the reggae singer made his public debut by competing in the All Together Sing high school choir competition. After winning the main prize in Digicel’s singing competition, Rising Stars, the following year, his popularity surged. Since then, Virgo has collaborated on singles with Donovan Germain and other Jamaican producers, including “Wanna Go Home,” “Live Mi Life,” and “Mi Caan Sleep.” Love Sick, his third album, is now in the works for the 26-year-old. Richard Bryan and I had the opportunity to interview Romain Virgo and see him perform at Caribbean Rocks NYC. Here are 12 interesting facts about Romain Virgo.
1. How do you think of yourself?
Romain Virgo is a Jamaican reggae performer from St. Ann. Now I live in Kingston, the epicenter of reggae music. I believe that music is my life, and that it is what defines my success.
2. How long have you been making music?
I’ve been singing since I was a child. But I believe I made a breakthrough through a high school choir competition in Jamaica called All Together Sing. In 2006, I entered the Rising Stars competition, which is akin to American Idol. I won in 2007. I’ve been recording music with some producers in Jamaica since then. Donovan Germain and a few more renowned Jamaican producers. My first song, or at least my first significant song, was most likely called “Feel Good Riddim’s “Mi Caan Sleep” I now have two albums out and am working on a third.

Is Davina going to quit Oppenheim?
In an interview with People, Potratz stated that a rival real estate business in Beverly Hills, Douglas Elliman, made her an offer she couldn’t refuse.
According to Potratz, “I’m definitely looking forward to working for Douglas Elliman and their smart and worldwide new development business. This is a fantastic chance for me because my background is in new development sales and marketing. It’s simply in sync with my abilities.”
She also mentioned: “I didn’t want to leave, but I had a fantastic opportunity. It was entirely a commercial decision.”
Jason Oppenheim also gave the publication a comment, saying: “Davina has always been a valuable asset and agent at the Oppenheim Group, as well as a friend whose professional actions I admire and support. I’ll always want the best for Davina, and I hope we’ll be able to collaborate in the future.”
Davina departed the Oppenheim Group on excellent terms, remaining friends with her former bosses Jason and Brett Oppenheim, as well as the rest of the Selling Sunset ensemble. There doesn’t appear to be any juicy drama behind Davina’s departure then.
