She breaks up as she realizes he’s awake and dumps the flower vase on the floor, telling him she’s delighted he’s awake. When the other residents of the Mansion start bickering while she is visiting Tanjiro, she tries to calm them down, but ends up yelling at them after he falls asleep again.
Kanao is the last conscious Demon Slayer left during the struggle against Muzan Kibutsuji, and she tries to compel herself to keep fighting. Tanjiro manages to paralyze Muzan just as he is about to execute the last blow, allowing him to carry Kanao to safety. Kanao sobs when she realizes he has awakened, and she continuously screams out his name, to which he responds by apologizing for being late.
Kanao weeps when she sees Nezuko trying to calm Tanjiro after he transforms into a Demon. Her concern for the brothers prompts her to use Flower Breathing Final Form: Equinoctial Vermilion Eye to create an opening through which she can inject the Demon-to-human cure into Tanjiro, putting her own life at stake while demonstrating her love for them.
She sheds tears of joy and is visibly relieved to see Tanjiro safely returned to his human form, the two exchanging tearful smiles as they lie across from each other.
Tanjiro and Kanao would later marry and start a family, with Kanata Kamado and Sumihiko Kamado as their great-grandchildren.
